A couple of times, the software stopped playing and didn't restart. I made a whole day's worth of programming, using the same hour's playlist to repeat each hour. I switched to another automation so I could get my station back on the air ASAP. I'm sorry, but I'm no longer using PlayIt Live and it's not on my computer. I understand Direttore's cuing the files differently than RDJ, but it is taking the right approach with the UI layout and operation of the editor, IMO. I would have spent several days doing that in RDJ. I manually cued an entire 500 song rotation in just a few hours using it. It's very fast, responsive, and easy to use. The best cue editor I've ever used was Direttore's. It's slow, and requires too much clicking. The RDJ cue editor is just unwieldy and awkward to use. One of his tirades towards a question I'd asked just hit me the wrong way one night, so I set him straght in no uncertain terms and pulled the plug. He frequently got insulting and very condescending at the most innocent of questions. however, the "joshuatree" guy was the worst. Andy DeGroo was good, but he could become a bit 'holier than thou' if you didn't jump through his hoops just right. Indeed, most people were very helpful (and patient), as you always were, which I greatly appreciate. I know it doesn't like VBR Mp3 files sometimes. What exactly is the problem you had with the Cue editor? Sometimes you have to manually edit cue points in RadioDJ as isn't 100% foolproof. So I'm not sure who was condescending towards you. The other users are normally very helpful. If you want you can use this tool to send me your data and logs to see if I can work out what might have happened and prevent it in the future: I will profile this to try and make it less resource hungry. I have a task to look into the excessive CPU issue for the next version at the end of the year. If you are running the software in Auto mode (and running the latest version, of course), it should automatically restart the audio in the event of the audio randomly stopping. It is incredibly difficult to pin down the reason why they are happening, as usually they are due to a number of unknown steps the user has taken prior to the failure. Random stoppages are something I hear of occasionally from users. With the long-form programs I run, Zara wasn't consistent placing cues without me editing every-single-show to conform to Zara's silence detection algorithm. But Zara (free) doesn't do exactly what I needed - although it's THE most-reliable automation I've used (it never crashed once on me) - and that's when I tried PlayIt Live. And I hate, hate, HATE the cue editor, among other things! With a general bad taste in my mouth over the whole thing, I dropped RDJ and went back to my ol' standby, Zara. some of the functions aren't very intuitive, and the software is definitely clunky. a handful of people were indeed helpful and patient). I'm not here to bash PlayIt Live, just relate my experiences in the event someone else runs into similar trouble. I reluctantly go back to RadioDJ, since it has the best combination of features and ease of use for me. I restarted it manually, and after another hour or so, it stopped again. After a couple of hours, PlayIt Live stopped segueing. I setup a playout pattern and a clock in PlayIt Live and scheduled it for a 24 hour off-air test. I have a dedicated computer with very low latency and a minimum of running processes just for automation use, and it has run other software very well. I really liked the simplicity of the UI and the ease of setup and file import, but it seems to have a few issues yet. I had high hopes for PlayIt Live automation but, alas, it was not to be.
